THE WIDGIEWA MERINOS.
LATEST SUCCESSES. Advices just to hand from Australia state that Mr John S. Horsfall has gained what is perhaps the most fweeping show-ring victory ever gained by an individual pastoralist. with his exhibits of merino sheep at the recent Wagga Wagga Show. He sent in 32 sheep for exhibition, and the honours won were as follows, viz.:— All the four Championships. All the 18 first prizes. Thirteen second prizes. And one third prize. The above is absolutely the maximum honours which could possibly be won by the number of sheep sent in for exhibition, and speaks volumes for the perfection to which the Widgiewa sheep have been brought. The Wagga Wagga sheep show ranks among the foremost in Australasia, and is open to the best. It will be remembered that after conducting the most searching test with the best-known dipping preparations now on the market, all have been discarded except Quibell's, which alone is now used on Mr I-lors-fall's extensive properties, from whence about 4,000 bales of wool are shipped tr> London annually, where it always commands to]) prices.
