BRITISH RAILWAY TROUBLE.
THE COMPANIES' REPLY. Received October 16, 7.40 a.m. LONDON, October 15. _ The Railway Companies' Association, in reply to Mr Bell's letter, stated that even if a definition conference wasi desirabb, they were unable to take any action in a matter affecting the relations between each individual company and its staff. Mr Bell said that he was frankly disappointed at such a very lame excuse being assigned. Mr B»ll expects that on the 28th inst. the results of the ballot will be known. He declares that the men throughout the country ar3 enthusiastic.
