CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln most places where I have resided it has been the custom to put the privileges of running publican's booths, fruit stalls, and refreshment booths at race and sports meetings up to public competition. But in Masterton these things seem to be run on di'Ferent lines, as it is stated, that so far as the refreshment booth is concerned on the Masterton Racing Club's course at Opaki, one caterer has been favoured with the privilege of supplying refreshments for five consecutive seasons. Mr Editor, would it not be more just to let others who are capable of undertaking the catering for refreshments, have a chance, and not allow Oi.e person to have a monopoly?- I am, etc " ONE WHO WOULD HAVE TENDERED.
