NAVIGATION OF THE AIR.
THE NULLI SECUNDUS. WRECKED BY A GALE. Received October 11, y.29 a.m. LONDON, October 10. A sudden gale wrecked the Nulli Secundus, the British military airship, at the Crystal Palace. (The Nulli Secundus was invented by Colonel Templer. Recently it travelled 33 miles, circled the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral, and generally acted so well that the Army authorities were delighted: The airship Nulli Secundus was said to approximate in type to the La Patrie of France, being a sausage : shaped balloon, 80 feet long, with a diameter of 30 feet. Both planes and fan propellers were used for giving direction to the balloon and for propulsion.)
