THE MAHARAHARA COPPER MINE.
The directors of the Maharahara Copper Mine have deemed it advisable to curtail their running expenses at the mine until the copper market is more favourable to enable them disposing o& their reserved shares, and raising more capital for the development of the mine. In the meantime two men will be employed in followflfe the westerly trend of the lode at the low level to ascertain its extent. Later on crosscuts will be driven at intervals to prove its width value. A fair amount of good ore is stocked at the mine which has been won from the crosscut just completed. Good ore has been left showing in the floor of this crosscut, proving that the ore values continue down. It is expected that in the near future the mine will <ngain be in full swing, and from the indications it is reasonable to expect that favourable results will eventuate. Mr H. F.- Shepherd, who has been managing the mine, left for Auckland on Wednesday morning, but will in all probability be retained as consulting engineer for the company, ,'iud visit the mine periodically.— Woodville Examiner.
