ME CARRUTHERS RESIGNS. ON ACCOUNT OF ILL-IIEALTH. Received October 1, 9.42 a.m. SYDNEY, October 1. The breakdown of the Hon. J. H. vCarruthers, Premier of New South Wales, has proved more serious than was anticipated, and has resulted, under medical .advice, in his resignation of the Premiership. After a protracted Cabinet meeting-, the Attorney-General (Mr Wade) officially announced at a very late hour last night that the Premier's health had given way under the strain, and that he had been compelled to send in his resignation. During the evening, Mr Wade added that he expected to be sent for to-day to form a Ministry. Parliament will, as arranged, meet to-morrow. Apart from the official statements, it is believed that the difficulties met with by Mr Carruthers in his task of completing the reconstruction of the Ministry had something to do with his resignation. THE NEW MINISTRY. Received October 1, 11.44 p.m. SYDNEY, October 1. The New Ministry is as follows: — Mr C. G. Wade, Premier and Attor-ney-General; Mr W addell, Treasurer; Mr Moore, Minister for Lands; Mr C. A. Lee, Minister for Public Works; Mr J.. A. Hogue, Minister for Public Instruction; Mr Perry, Minister for Mines and Agriculture; Mr W. H. Wood, Chief Secretary; Mr C. W. Oake's, Honorary Minister; Mr John Hughes, Vice-President of the Council; Mr Ashton, Hon. Minister in the Council. HOT WEATHER IN SYDNEY. Received October 1, 11.44 p.m., SYDNEY, October 1. To-day was a very hct day. The glass registered 90 in the shade. THE GLEN INNES ARREST.; Received October 1, 9.42 a.m. BRISBANE, October 1. With reference to the Glen Innes arrest, it is believed that the arrested person is identical with a man who about the time of the alleged crime made many confessions of imaginary crimes in which he claimed to have taken part. (The man corfessed that he set fire to a woolshed at Cunnamulla, and also, in order to escape detection, murdered a man who was wanted as a witness).
