RAILWAY COLLISIONS.

FIFTEEN PEOPLE KILLED.

Received September 30, 10.29 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 30. The Chicago express collided with a freight train on the BaltimoreOhio railway, owing to a mistake being made by a pointsman. Fifteen people were killed.

COLLISION AT NEWPORT. A DRIVER KILLED. EIGHT PASSENGERS INJURED. MARVELLOUS ESCAPE. Received September 30, 10.56 p.m. LONDON, September 30. The Cardiff exnress collided with a mineral train at Newport owing to a mistake in the signals. The driver of the mineral train was killed. Though the carriages of the express were piled upon each other only eight passengers were injured. The passengers had a marvellous escape.
