THE AMERICA CUP.
REFUSAL OP SIR THOMAS LIPTON'S CHALLENGE. AMERICAN YACHTSMEN RESENTFUL. A NEW CUP TO BE OFFERED. Received September 20, 8.23 a.m. NEW YORK, September 29. In connection with the New York Yacht Club's refusal to accept Sir Thomas Lipton's challenge for the America Cup, and which refusal practically commits the club to a recognition of "racing machines" only, yachtsmen in America are resentful. A syndicate in Boston is now organising an offer of a new cup, and proposes to race Sir Thomas Lipton foL" it under international rules. The race can be sailed in any kind of boat Sir Thomas chooses.
