LAND TAX BILL.

(By Telegraph—Parliamentary Correspondent). WELLINGTON, September 27. In the House, this afternoon* clauses 17 to 19 (inclusive) of the-. Land Tax Bi!l were passed unamended. The House continued the Land Tax Bill in Committee in the evening,, and had got as far as Clause 21 when the supper adjournment occurred. Every attempt at an amendment was negatived by large majorities, except one, in which Mr T. M. Wilford carried an amendment in one clause to strike out the word "sterling"' after pounds. The word of course was superfluous and the Minister agreed to the amendment, which was. one of Mr Wilford's "ftumyisms."
