The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows: —At Pahiatua, on Tuesday, sheep entries were confined to empty ewes and hoggets, all selling. Rates were low, but the class was only medium. The yarding in cattle was very heavy, all sorts and conditions coming forward. Steers,

strong young cattle, and gdbd quality X cows and heifers sold, old cows and & poor heifers being, neglected. At Masterton, on Wednesday, the sheep pens were fairly well filled, fats being well represented. All through we had fair competition, selling all lots. In beef we submitted some prime ox and medium weights. Hejavy bullocks were passed, but sold. In store cattle but one lot of steers, which were passed, and had to be dealt with privately. Cows and heifers met with a poor sale. All pigs offered sold readily. At Pahiatua—Hoggets 12s to 13s, ewes 7s 6d to lis, young steers 50s to 555, yearlings 25s to 30s, mixed yearlings 31s, best dairy cows £4 to £5 10s, dairy heifers to 60s, hack horses £5 to £7. At Masterton—Best wethers 255, others 225, best ewes 225, others 19s, best huggets 16s 6d, others 12s to 13s 3d, light beef bullcclcs £7 15s,

store cows 30s to 495, heifers 455, d springing heifers 50s to 62s 6d, wjaner pi<js 13s to 14 6d, small porkers 235, sows in pig 30s to 40s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: We held our fortnightly gale at Masterton, yesterday. The entry in sheep did not come up to advertised numbers, being confined to empty ewes, fat and forward ewes, no hoggets or wethers being yarded. In fat ewes we sold a really prime line on account of Mr T. P. Lett, at 26s 3d, a record this season for Wairarapa. The yarding in cattle chiefly comprised dairy stuff, for which there was very poor demand. We quote:—Empty ewes 15s, forward ewes 16s lid to 18s, prime fat ewes 26s 3d, springing heifers £3 to £3 2s 6d,springing cows £3 5s to £4, good forward cows £4, empty heifers £2, 18-month heifers 31s, calves 12s, pigs (slips) 20s.
