Lund's Line is building two 7,000ton steamers at Belfast, and the Aberdeen and White Star '.Lines ate building a 12,000 tonner at Belfast for the Australian trade. COMMERCIAL WIRELESS TELEGRAMS. Received September 25, 8.16 a.m. QUEBEC, September 24. Mr Marconi states that he will shortly inaugurate commercial wire'e 's telegrams from Nova Scotia to Europe ?t fivepence a word. He will be able to transmit twenty words a minute.
HYGIENE CONFERENCE. Received September 25, 7.31 a.m. BERLIN, September 24. Thirty-six countries are represented at the Hygiene Conference which has opened here. FAST STEAMERS. Received September 25, 8.30 a.m. LONDON, September 24. The Canadian-Pacific Company contemplate accelerating the Atlantic and Pacific services. They hope to run from Liverpool to Brisbane in 24 days. The North German Lloyds propose to build a 28-knot steamer.
