Later particulars in, connection with the fight in which the Hottentot Chief Morenga was killed show that Major Elliott's troops, numbering 60, pursued Morenga, who was accompanied by 10 Hottentots, along a waterless track, for 48 hours. Morenga posted himself on a kopje, and opened fire at 1,000 yards. He fought fiercely for two hours. Inspector Manders and twelve troopers rushed the position under cover of the main body's fire.
