THE RISING AT RIGA. TWENTY-TWO TERRORISTS CONDEMNED TO DEATH. Received September 24, 8-S3 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 23. Twenty-two out of fifty-eight Terrorists implicated in the rising at Riga in 1905 were condemned to death, and eighteen to penal servitude. The rest were acquitted.

WORKSHOPS BURNED. * SEVEN GUNBOATS DESTROYED. INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED. Received September 24, 10.25 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 24. The workshops at St. Kenensk, together with seven river gunboats, which were sent thither in sections, have been burnt. The officials suspect that the fire was the work of incendiaries. THE SILDERSTEIN MURDER. SEVEN WORKMEN AND A GIRL SHOT WITHOUT A TRIAL. ' Received September 24, 10.25 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 24. Seven workmen and a girl at Lodz have been shot without a trial in connection with the murder of the spinner Silderstein. Every third man of the 800 arrested was exiled to Siberia for not preventing the murder. (At Lodz, the industrial centre of Poland, a spinner named Silderstein was murdered by his employees for refusing to pay them wages for a fortnight during which they were on strike. Troops and police subsequently surrounded Silderstein's buildings and arrested eight hundred of the employees.)

THIRTEEN DEATH SENTENCES COMMUTED. Received Septamber 24, 11.7 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, September 24. The death sentences passed on 13 out of the 22 Terrorists at Riga have been commuted to penal servitude for life.
