A SPINNER MURDERED.

A Lodz spinner, named Silderstein, has been murdered by his employees for refusing to pay them their wages for a fortnight during which they were on strike.
Troops and the police surrounded the building, and subsequently arrested eight hundred of the employees. JAPANESE OFFICERS ARRESTED. FOUND IN POSSESSION OF MAPS AND PLANS. JAPAN DEMANDS IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF PRISONERS. Received September 22, 4.46 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 21.
The Bourse Gazette states that during the military manoeuvres, near Vladivostok, some Japanese officers, belonging to the General Staff, were found in possession of certain maps and plans, and were placed under arrest.
The Japanese Government has demanded the,immediate release of the prisoners.
THE STRANDING OF THE STAN DART.
Received September 22, p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, September 21. The Standart disaster was due to the captain not receiving the Russian Hydrographic Department's new chart showing the rocks where the yacht stranded. (The Russian Imperial yacht Standart went on the rocks off Hangoe Head, Finland, a few days ago, but was i-efloated).
