"MOTHER GOOSE."

To convey a large theatrical organization like Mr Williamson's Pantomime Company throughout Australasia involves a great deal more trouble and expense than most people imagine. In the first place it is imperative that the dates in the various towns will so fit in that there will be no delay and not a single night lost; to miss one performance with so many salaries to pay means a considerable financial loss. Then there is the question of transit. Throughout Aus» tralia while travelling overland the "Mother Goose" Company had a special train the whole time, equipped with sleeping and ordinary camages and large vans and trucks for the huge quantity of scenery and effects which they carried. On sea voyages the management always arrange for a steamer to wait the movements of the Company. Altogether there are nearly 130 people travelling in the Company, and including the local staff, etc., there are about 150 engaged in the production. The Company includes, in addition to principals, about 75 chorus ladies and ballerinas, 16 tiny children, a complete orchestra, electricians, mechanicians and others. The pantomime will be staged in the Masterton Town Hall, to-morrow evening. The box plan is open at Miss Rive's.
