MEIKLE ACQUITTAL BILL.

WELLINGTON, September 19
The Meikle Acquittal Bill has just been circulated. Tho object of the Bill is to give effect to the report of the Meikle Commission, and provides that every record of his judgment and conviction and all the prison records relating to his case «hall be deemed to be expunged and deleted as if the judgment and conviction (which are specifically reversed) had not. been given or obtained. The Bill also specifically provides that nothing contained in it shall give any person any right of action or any other right or remedy which he woald not have had otherwise.
