Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: —At Pahiatua on Tuesday we had a fair yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle for which there was a good demand. We quote:—Hoggets 12s, wethers 17s, 3-year steers £5 15s, cows in. calf £1 7s 6d to £2 15s, springing cows £6 ss, empty cows £1 17s 6d to £3 2s, springing heifers £3 5s to £3 Us Gd, heifers in calf £2 Is to £2 15s r empty heifers 29s to 355. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale, held yesterday, as follows: — The yarding of sheep consisted principally of fats for which there was a keen demand, all lots offered selling readily under the hammer. A total clearance of the sheep was made. In cattle, about 350 head were yarded. Bidding at auction was irregular, and most of the lots had to be sold privately. We quote: —Sheep —Prime fat wethers, 265; other fat wethers, 235; fat ewes, best, 235; others, 18s to 19s 4d; fat and forward ewes, 15s 2d to 17s 8d; store ewes, 12s to 13s 8d; ewes and lambs, 18s to 20s; fat hoggets, 17s 8d; other good hoggets, 16s lOd; culls, 8s 2d. Cattle—Fat heifers, medium, £4 19s; empty heifers, 30s to £2 17s 6d heifers in calf, £3 to £3 10s; springing cows, £4 to £4 10s; fat and forward cows, £3 10s to £4 10s; store cows, 35s to 50s; grown bullocks, £6; 3 year steers, £4 17s <M to £5 12s 6d; 2i to 3 year steers, £4 to £4 10s; 2 year steers, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d; 20 months steers, £2 12s 6d; weaners, £1 to £1 ss. Pigs—Slips 13s; sows in pig, 255.
