DEATH OF A VETERAN.

By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, September 16. There died on Saturday night, in the Old Peoples Home, an old veteran named Richard Chambers, aged 93, who arrived in Sydney with the 28tb Regiment, GJ years ago, and had been in this colony about 50 years. In his prime he was a noted pugilist. He was able to read without glasses the daily newspapers up to a week before his death.
