LU3ITANIA v. LUCANIA. Received September 12, 7.42 a.m. LONDON. September 11. In connection with the LusitaniaLucania race, the quite equal to expectations. The first day she steamed 556 nautical miles, although retarded by a fog for five hours. Received September 12, 10.55 p.m. NEW YORK, September 12. The Lucania, yesterday afternoon, was 1,159 miles east of Sandy Hook, and approximately ten hours behind the Lusitania. (The great Cunard liner Lusitania sailed from two and a half hours after the Lucania, also a Cunarder. Excitement prevailed amongst the passengers as to the result of the race.)
