PALMERSTON NORTH SUPREME COURT.

PALMERSTON N., September 12. The sittings of the Supreme Court, before Judge Button, were continued to-day. Tukehoru, a Maori, was charged with assault with criminal intent on a girl of 18. The case was a long one, and thirteen witnesses were examined. The evidence went to show that the accused had badly knocked the girl about, punching her in the face, bunging up her eyes, and knocking four front teeth out. The accused was undefended. The jury found accused guilty. He was remanded till Saturday.
