AUCKLAND v. POVERTY BAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBOP.NE, September 11. The football match Auckland v. Poverty Bay was played, this morning, in fine weather. There was a large attendance. The match resulted n a win for the visitors by 14 to 3. The game was closer than the scores indicate, and afforded some exciting 'exhibitions of play. Auckland scored eight points to the local men's three in the first spell, and got two tries in the second spell. Magee, Wilson, Hooper, and Murray •each registered tries for the visitors, Magee converting one. Ihe An ek la ruler:-; proceeded north by the Talune at midday.
The following players have been selected to represent the Rover JB team in their ma f ch against Dalefield to-day:—Fairbrother (3), Watson, Wadham, McGuinness, Horner, Hall, De Lacey, Abbott, Kilminster (2), Lawrence, Phelps and Desmond. The following team will represent Rangitumau against Mauriceville, on Saturday next, at Mauriceville: — Millar, Harvey, T. Chamberlain, P. McLachlan, B. Chamberlain, Tait, D. Wilton, N. Wilton, F.
