(By Telegraph—Parliamentary Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, September 11, Mr F. Mander (Marsden) asked the Acting-Minister for Public Works, whether, in view of the good work done in California by the oiling: of roads and the probability of cheap oil being available in the coiony, he will make full inquiiy into the matter, and ascertain the kind of roads most benefited by the process, the kind of oil and quantity necessary, and all particulars in connection therewith? The Hon. J. McGowan replied that steps were being taken to obtain all the available information on the subject.
