PURITY IN SPORT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 11. The conference of delegates to consider the question of purity in sport met again to-day. It was decided to form a New Zealand Sports Federation for *he purpose of governing various branches of sport, the objects to be the protection of the i interests, rights and privileges of each affiliated body; mutual recog - nition of suspensions, disqualifications, registrations, etc.; the Federation to meet annually at such place as may be decided; annual meetings for election of 'officers to be held in the month of September; each affiliated body to elect two representatives on the Federation : annual subscription of each affiliatsd body to be two guineas; an executive committee, comprising four members with a secretary and a chairman elected by the executive, to conduct the business of the Federation and adjudicate on all appeals; the committee's decision to be binding on all affiliated bodies. A special meeting maybe convened at any time at the request, of not less lhan three affiliated bodies. These rules will be submitted to all governing sports bodies and replies considered at a meeting to take place at Christchurch in November to make final regarding the Federation. Invitations to send delegates will be sent out to all bodies now governing the dliferent branches of sport. Christchurch is recommended as headquarters of the Federation. A resolution was carried in favour of suppressing betting at all sports gatherings.
