PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES.
(By Telegraph—Parliamentary Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, September 11. Mr W. T. Jennings asked the Acting -Minister for Public Works in the House, this afternoon, whether he will take into consideration the advisability of establishing a classification scheme in connection with the employees in the Public Works Department, more especially as affecting those employed in the Department engaged on railway and construction works, and who are outside of Civil Service regulations? The Minister replied:—The Public Works Department will be classified, in common with all the other Departments of the service that have not yet been dealt with, in any general scheme of classification that may be decided upon.
