CARTERTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Tuesday. A summoned meeting of the Rechabit Tent 1.0. R. was held in the t Rechabite Hall last evening. Bro. A. Petersen, C.R., occupied the chair. Two members were reported to be on the sick list. An invitationto visit the Masterton Tent was received, and Bros H. and L. Pearce were appointed to attend. It was re- j solved to support the Carterton Oddfellows' recommendation that the Sports Committee should select two delegates from each Lodge. Bros. W. Tucker and H. Merewood were appointed delegates to represent the 1.0. R. Tent. One friend was proposed for membership. Several farm properties in the district have lately changed hands at very satisfactory figures. During last month about 31,000 bricks were despatched from the local Brick and Tile Works, and about the same number of field pipes. . Mr John Ray, who is suffering from pleurisy, is so seriously ill as to occasion his relatives and friends much anxiety. The Rev. W. J. Elliott, of the Methodist Church, left this morning for Pahiatua in connection with Home Missionary wcrk. He will be absent for a few days. . Totara Lodge U.A.O.D. met in the Foresters' Hall, last evening, Bro. J. M. Nicholls, A.D., occupying the chair. Three friends were proposed for membership, and two were received into the Order.
