SUPPRESSION OF PROFESSIONALISM.
Ey Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 10. Delegates representing, the various athletic bodies throughout the colony football, swimming, boxing, cricket, hockey, tennis, running, et-_\—met in Wellington, to-day, to consider a circular issued by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association for the protection of sports bodies from professionalism, and to endeavour to invoke the assistance of the Legislature. A -evolution was'adopted m favour of forming a federation of sports bodies. The Conference will resume tomorrow.
