ESCAPE OF TWO PRISONERS.

By Telegraph—Press Association. ROTORUA, September 9. Two prisoners escaped from Rotorua last night. They were last seen about six o'clock. When locking up hour (seven o'clock) came round, the prisoners were missing. The names of the prisoners are Harry Taylor, alias Alfred White, and Frank Edwards. The former has served two months of a three years' sentence for incendiarism, and Edwards has served six months of a th'-ee years' sentence for theft and false pretences. Their ages, respectively, are twenty and nineteen years. The prisoners are supposed to be making for Auckland. Sergeant Watt and two policemen and the warders from Waiotapu prison are out searching for the men.
