VICTORIA LEAGUE.

By Telegraph-—Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 9. The Wellington Branch has 120 members and a credit balance of £ls. Lord Plunket spoke of \m interest in the League. He was pleased the New Zealand Government had assisted by sending Home lantern sliks and "information about New Zealanl. The Premier said he hoped to be able to assist the League in carrying out its good and important work. He thought it a mistake to make any charge for admission of children to the League. He spoke of great responsibilities devolving on the future generations of the Empire. Dr. Findlay spo\e of the marked change during recent years in the way colonial visitors were greeted. He attributed this in a great measure to the improved means of communication, and mentioned Sir J. G. Ward's valuable work in postal and telegraphic matters.
