In the House, this afternoon, business apart from reference to the tariff episode of Wednesday was unimportant.

The Methylated Spirits Bill, intended to prevent the purifying of methylated spirit or the use of it in perfumes, was read a second time on the motion of the Hon. J. A. Miliar. Mr W. F. Massey expressed surprise that the Hon. Mr Millar should bring down a Bill which two years ago lie had strenuously opposed.
