TRADES UNION CONGRESS.
ABOLITION OF HOUSE OF LORDS URGED. September 6, 9.58 p.m. LONDON, September 6. The Trades Union Congress at Bath unanimously adopted a resolution strongly urging the Government to take steps" to secure the abolition of the House of Lords.

Other resolutions adopted by the Bath Congress demanded an enquiry into the alleged Salvation Army sweating; condemned conscription or ompulsory military training; instructed the Parliamentary Committee to secure better wages at the Government dockyards, and reaffirmed the previous decision of the Congress in favour of a minimum wage of 30s per week. Mr J. o'Grady, member of the House of Commons for Leeds East, declared that joiners worked in the Salvation Army workshops at Spitafield at five hufdred per cent, below the Trade Union rate.
