STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: —We held a most successful sale at Maryborough on Friday on account of Mess r s James and J. G. Taylor. Messrs Taylor have been contracting for a number of years and their horses were well-known throughout the district. Great credit is due to the vendors for the way the horses were got up for sale, and in Our experience we have never had the pleasure of offering such a good lot of draughts. A glance showed that the horses had been well and carefully cared for, and. all animals guaranteed staunch and suun&T Buyers attended in good numbers, and competition all through was most spirited, every horse offered finding a buyer under the hammer. A number of buyers from Wellington attended, but local men would not allow the horses to go out of the district. The following sales were effected: —Bay mare, 4 years, £35105; bay mare, 9 years, £47 10s; bay mare, 7 years, £4O 10s; bay gelding, 8 years, £3O; bay mare, 4 years £54; bay mare, 7 years, £54 10s; bay gelding, 7 years, £49 10s; bay mare, 4 years, £49 10s; bay mare, 9 years, £27; roan gelding, 3 years, £32 10s; bay gelding, 3 years, £25; harness mare, aged, £l2; 2-year colt, £ls; 2-year lilly, ' £l6; 2-year filly, £l7. Implements also made satisfactory prices and -a total clearance was effected. There was also spirited competition for the hoggets offered and sales were as follow : -450 at 16s 6d, 161 medium • JiDggets 12s 6d Y Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual monthly sale in their Martinborough yards on Thursday, 29th inst. Sheep did not came up to advertised numbers, but cactle were in excess. Bidding under the hammer was not animated, bat the whole yarding of sheep Was afterwards cleared by private treaty. Aged ewes in lamb , made 15s, small 2-tooth wethers 16s, dairy cows from £3 10s to £5, springing heifers £2 to £3 10s. At the same sale we also offered, on account of Mr J. Saunders, a number of draught horses, implements, etc. Satisfactory sales were made as follow : —Team of five waggon horses £250, five-year draught mare £49 10s j, ploughs, harrows, et:., made satisfactory prices.
