AN OLD COUPLE BURNED TO DEATH. Received August 30, 10.10 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 30. A brother and sister named Mills, both over seventy years of age, were burned to death in a small cottage at Carlton. A search of the premises revealed documents and cash representing nearly £16,000. A COLLISION. Received August 30, 10.8 a.m. ADELAIDE, August 30. The Ever,ton Grange, when proceeding down the Port River, struck and sunk the schooner Oscar Robinson. The crew of the schooner were rescued. PENNY POSTAGE. Received August 30, 10.8 a.m. SYDNEY, August 30. Mr Henniker Heaton, British M.P., has arrived. He states that he is pursuing a campaign with the object of cheapening postage and caole charges. He hopes in a few weeks' time penny postage will be in operation between America and Great Britain.
