CARTERTON.

(From Our Own_Correspond<2ffik) Thursday, The funeral of the late Mrs W. T. West took place this afternoon, a very large number of settlers from all parts of the district attending to pay a last tribute of respect to the decesgad. The nail-bearers were Messrs. G. Welch, C. Tunnicliffe, H. fiodder and A. Knutsen. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. W- J. Elliott, of the Methodist Church. The Carterton Brass Band will take part in the procession of footballers to the Recreation Reserve on Saturday next. The Belvedere Dairy Factory opened for the season this morning, and 400 gallons of milk was received.
