Hy Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, August 29. The matter ot settlement of the claims in reference to the Nightcaps Mine disaster was mentioned in.the Supreme Court, to-day, and his Honor made the final apportionment as follows:—Mrs Cat son £4OO, her children £SOO, to be equally divided; Mrs Duncan £3OO, her children £6OO, to be equally divided; the two children of Welch receive £2OO each. In regard to the settlement it should be mentioned that from the first the Company has shown a. desire to make adequate provision for the widows and families of the deceased men. Before proceedings were instituted it is stated that the Company offered £I,OOO to Mrs Duncan, £I,OOO to Mrs Carson, and £3OO to the Welch children.
