HURRICANE AT COROWA. Received August 29, 10.10 a.m. • SYDNEY, August 29. _ During the progress of the Agricultural Show at Corowa a hurricane razed most of the temporary buildings, and caused a panic. The animals stampeded, and at one time it appeared as if a grandstand crowded with people, would collapse. One man was injured.
MADAME MELBA. Received August 29, 9.27 p.m. FREMANTLE, August 29. Madame Melba, accompanied by her son and daughter-in-law, has arrived on a six months' visit of a purely private nature. In the course of an interview Madame Melba stated that the most promising Australasian singer in London at the present was Miss Ainsley, of New Zealand. HIDES. Received August 29, 9.27 p.m. MELBOURNE, August 29. Hides are unchanged except for inferiors, which are dull. THE WOY WOY MURDER. Received August 29. 9.27 p.m. SYDNEY, August 29. The jury found that W'ilson was insane when he shot Fox on August 2nd. The Judge has ordered Wilson to be detained during the Governor's pleasure. (A boardinghouse-keeper at Woy Woy, named Wilson, shot a visitor, Walter Fox, dead, while sitting in a room.)
