MAURICEVILLE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mrs P. Gleeson, who is going to reside at Waipawa, was entertained at a farewell social in the local hall on Monday last. The entertainment . was arranged by Messrs M. O'Brien, J. Carroll and H. Dillingham, who had left nothing undone to make the function a success. The hall was tastefully decorated, the music excellent, and the numerous guests ready and willing to enjoy a few hour's' , good dancing. Mr T. Fawcett presided at the piano. Messrs M. McKenzie, W. Jensen and T. Wriggle played extras. Songs were sung by Mr Jensen, Misses T. Carroll, and M. O'Brien. Dancing was kept up till
morning. Refreshments were sup**Splied by Mrs Carroll, sen. About forty couples enjoyed this pleasant entertainment.. The Kopuaranga football team has invited the Mauriceville team to play a return match at the former place. The visitors are to be entertained at a banquet at Host Dryden's after the match.
