CARTERTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Wednesday. .The Belvedere Dairy Factory commenced operations for the season this morning—four' days earlier than on previous years—on account of the increased supply of milk coming in. A meeting of the Wairarapa Horticultural and Industrial Society was held inMr Jas. Brown's offices, Belvedere Street, this afternoon, a failnumber of the committee being present. Final arrangements were made for the Society's Show, to be held on October 14th. A committee of ladies was appointed to arrange the staging, etc., The fortnightly meeting of the local Methodist Christian Endeavour Society was held last evening. The Rev. W. J. Elliott presided. _ A letter was received from the Wellington Christian Endeavour Union asking the Society to appoint two delegates to attend the Christian Endeavour Convention, which is to be held in Wellington next month. After some discussion the letter was held over for a few days. Other routine business was transacted.
