Received August 28, 10.20 p.m. LONDON, August 28. ' r The Daily Chronicle now learns that Brazil, and not Russia, has ordered the new warships as cabled on Augast 22nd. The contracts include a battleship of the Dreadnought type, which on March sth last Vickers, Son and Maxim were reported to be building for Brazil, and two Dreadnoughts ordered from th e Elswick yards as foreshadowed in the cablegram on April 29th. The Times states that the value of each of these vessels will be j £1,800,000. The Times adds that i Sir William Whitworth and Company have built two cruisers for Brazil and two gunboats for Argentina, Vickers. Son and Maxim supplyingthe engines.
