AUCKLAND BOXING CLUB.
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 27. In the presence of a good attendance of the public, the Auckland Boxing Club (registered) held their finals in the boxing championships this evening. The club is not affiliated to the New Zealand Boxing Association. The police interfered during the contests, but a fight was stopped because a contestant could not box and in another contest, where fouling repeatedly occurred, the police threatened to stop the proceedings if the referee continued to act. He did not further act to-night. The contests were good and the finals were won by A. Anderson, Auckland, P»' heavy weight; J. McLennon, Cambridge, light weight; J. Ward, Auckland, bantam weight; F. Bowden, Wellington, middle weight; and W. Ashley, late of Melbourne featherweight. The latter knocked out his opponent in the first round.
