HOCKEY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 25. Wellington defeated Wanganui at hockey by 6 goals to 3. Smythe, Willis (3), and Davies (2) scored goals for Wellington, and Thomson (2) and Harris for Wanganui.
The Wairarapa and Wanganui representative teams will meet at Lansdowne, this afternoon, when an interesting contest should be witnessed. The Wairarapa team is as follows:—Goal, H. Hall; full-backs, G. ThynneandJ. Fisher; halves, C. Carley, H. Donald, C. Fairbrother; forwards, Fred. Bunny, A. Williams, A.Pragnell, J. Rue and Frank Bunny. Mr S. Noble-Campbell will referee. In the evening the visitors will be entertained by the Wairarapa Hockey Association in the Central Hotel.'
