Y.M.C.A. VILLAGE FAIR.
For an "off" night the attendance at the Y.M.C.A. Village Fair, last evening, was satisfactory, and the amount of business transacted was equally so. Several of the dances by Mrs Kendall's pupils were repeated in the Town Hall, and Miss Doris Guise was warmly applauded for her dancing. The fact that the Orchestral Society played most of the accompaniments to the dances was a welcome improvement. The orchestra also rendered a number of selections between the dances. This evening there will be a varied programme of dancing in the Town Hall, commencing at 9.30 o'clock. The winners of raffles last evening were—Messrs Gordon (1). E Warner (689), B. Brown (1,423), J. Peters (1,356), P. Bennett (1,106), J. Peters (302) and Miss Vallance (847.) The amount taken last evening totalled nearly £4O. The Fair will be brought to a conclusion this evening, and a large attendance is expected. After the dancing all the goods on hand in the various stalls will be sold by auction by Mr J. R. Nicol.
