BOXING.
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 19. The Auckland Boxing Club commenced their championship meeting this evening. There was a large attendance. The results are as follow:—Featherweight: Hogan was declared the winner over E. Moor in the second round. The police interfered in the first round owing to the contest being lixtle more than a fight. Bantamweight: J. Gibson defeated G. Pooley. Middleweight: G. Howarth defeated F. J. Edwards on a foul in the second round. Heavyweight: A. Ander;on knocked out F. Bawden in the turd round. Lightweight: J. McLeunan defeated A. Johnson in the seco.d round. NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 19. The following will represent the Wellington Association in the New Zealand Boxing Championships, at Auckland, on the 30th and 31st instants: —Bantamweight: B. Tracy; Lightweight, G. McCarthy; Middleweight, H. Fletcher; Heavyweight, H. Sandow. The Featherweight representative has yet to be chosen.
