EFFECT OF THE GOVERNMENT PROPOSALS. RESULTS AT A GLANCE.
An interesting return was presented co Parliament by the Premier on Friday last giving a comparison of payments under the present scale of graduated tax with payments under the proposed new scale in respect of land other than business premises.The information was given hi the following form:— I _ Present New Tax i Unimproved Graduated Increased by Value. Tax. 20 p.c. Increase
In all cases where the land includes business premises the amount of graduated land tax will be reduced by the exclusion of the unimproved value of such premises from the 20 per cent, increase.
