(From Our London Correspondent.) June 19th. Two New Zealand artists are to make their bow for the first time in London shortly. Mr Arnold Trowell, mentioned by me in former letters, appears at the Bechstein Hall on Saturday. Mr Trowell, who is called in Belgium "The Magician of the 'Cello," is "a native of Wellington, and is seventeen years of age, studied with Professor Hugo Becker at Frankfort, and afterwards at Brussels, where he made his debut in March last. Mr Magnus Laing, the pianist, is to appear at the same hall on July 6th, where he is giving a recitaV He is a native of Timavu. It was Paderewski himself who heard this clever artist while touring in New Zealand, and, acting under his advice, he came to Europe to study under Eisenbeyer and Leschetizsky for two years in Beriln, and also Bersoni, who had such a great idea of his abilities that he taught him for nothing. Recently Paderewski. who has been over here, again heard the New Zealander play, and expressed the great confidence he has in his future.
