RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES, j By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 6. The weather was fine for training ' work this morning, and the tracks at Riccarton were in good order. Lady Annie beat Clanuhattan over the mile course in lmin 47 4-ssec, Buccleuch taking lmin 52 3-ssec. Without being extended, Ivanoff covered six furlongs in lmin ISsec, Probable coveirng a similar journey in lmin 19 2-ssec. Merriwai and Waipu jumped five hurdles attractively. L.ill, by himself, was safe, though skw, over eight flights. Cuiragno and Ability finished together at the end of a mile and a half, covered in 2min 50sec. Phaetonitis beat Kiatere over a similar journey in 2min 56sec. Nadador and St. Kooringa fenced well for two circuits, Nadador especially going well. Hutana started with them, but fell at the third fence. Silkweb created a good impression by running a mile in lmin 46 4-ssec. Leeside beat Ben Jonson in a mile and a" quarter tussle, Southern Cross and Landlock being several lengths away. Inniskiilen, Rosemorn, Irish, and Loch Fyne were schooled twice round the big fences, each giving a first-class display. Catchem and Lady jdune jumped six hurdles. Catchem sha-Jed well, easily out-jumping his companion, whose display was disappointing. Aqua Regia cleared out from Vizier over five hurdles. Paritutu and Shrapnel covered a mile and a quarter in 2min losec, finishing together.
