STOCK MARKET.
* Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Eketahuna sale held on Friday, August 2nd, as follows: —All sheep that were advertised came forward. Bidding under the hammer was brisk, all lines being sold except one line of hcggets. We quote:— Ewes in lamb 19s, 225, 24s 4d, cull ewes 10s to 13s, hoggets lis 7d, 12s Bd, 13s 7d, 16s 6d, 18s Id, culls to 7s, fat ewes 18& 3d. Few cattle in, and dull of sale. We also held a clearing sale at Oaklands, the residence of A. Admore, Esq., on Tuesday, July 29th. A large attendance of buyers, fair prices being realised. Ewes in lamb 23s 4d, 23s 2d, £1 Is, hoggets 13s lid, rams to £2 2s. Harness horses £ll to £25, hacks to £l3, unbroken horses £9 to £l2. Cattle were low in condition. Young steers to £2 18s, poor cows 20s to £3. Most of the implements brought fair values, as also furniture. On Thursday, August Ist, we also held a cleaving sale on account of Mrs Knox, of Hamua. Cows in calf £5 to £B. Is, backward cows and empty ones £3 to £5, average all over £4 lis. Horses, traps, etc., fair values. Empty heifers 26s 6d.
