THE CASABLANCA MASSACRE.
VICTIMS STONED AND HORRIBLY MUTILATED.
MQR&CCO, August 2. The victims of £fce Casablanca outrage were stoned and horribly mutilated in full view of other Europeans, <who were powerless to intervene. Moorish women from the housetops % guttered cries of joy while the outrage was progressing. The Minister for War laas sent 200 troops to Casablanca.
FRENCH AND SPANISH CRUISERS DESPATCHED. PARIS, Augusta. Ose Spanish and several French cruisers have been despatched to Morocco. MOORS BUTCHERING EUROPEANS. TANGIER, August 2. A vessel passing Casablanca saw 2,000 Moors butchering European.*, while the troops did not attempt to interfere. The mob ejected the Governor, and appointed one of themselves. fep It is believed that thirteen Euro--peans were massacred. Tribesmen seized th« Customs House, and are trying to prevent all nationalities, except French, leaving the town, alleging that the riot was over. DEPRESSION ON THE EUROPEAN BOURSES. LONDON, August 2. The Casablanca outrage has caused depression on the European bourses. Received August 4, 4.40 p.m. PARIS, August 3. France and Spain have determined forthwith to enforce the provision of the Algeciras Convention for the Franco-Spanish policing of Casablanca and will land troops.Members of the French colony, numbering 160, took refuge aboard a British merchantman. Several French battleships and cruisers and a Spanish warship are preparing to proceed to Morocco. The Italian cruiser Etna has been placed at the disposal of the French Legation at Tangier. The British cruiser Antrim, lying at Gibraltar has been ordered to hold herself in readiness for service.
