DISCONTENTED POLICE IN BELFAST.
LONDON, August 2. She Essex Regiment, from the €urragh of Kildare, has been transferred ;to Belfast. -A iTHREAT BY WEXFORD POLICE. LONDON, August 2. A -large force of, Wexford police, -will-were drafted to Belfast, threaten to lay down their arms if the Government refuse to increase their pay. Received August 4, 4.16 p.m. LONDON, August 3. The police at Athenry met and ventilated their claims despite the district inspector's prohibition coupled with a promise to consider their grievances. Four .hundred active demonstrators at Belfast have been transferred to the wildest country districts.
