MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
ANNUAL MESTING. The annual meeting of the members of the Masterton Racing Club was held in the Exchange Hall yesterday afternoon. The President (Mr C. F. Vallance) occupied the chair, and there were about twenty members present. The annual report and balance sheet, which has already been published in the Wairarapa Age, was adopted without discussion, on the motion of MrC. A. Pownall, seconded by Mr A. G. Pilmer. " The officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr A. IV. Cave; President, Mr C. F. Vallance; Vice-Presidents, Messrs J. Macara, C. A. Pownall, A. G. Pilmer and D. McLachlan; Timekeeper, Mr W. D. Watson; Treasurer, Mr C. F. Vallance; Clerk of Course, Mr C. J. Bennett; Stewards, Messrs R. Buick, W. Cooper, J. lorns, W. Piatt, C. H. Smith, A. J. Welch, D. Caselberg, Jas. Cress, A. Reside, VV. D. Watson, W. lorns, and O. Cooper; Auditors, Messrs G. G. Cork and G. W. Sellar. A motion was moved by Mr J. lorns, seconded by Mr W. Cooper, that the auditors' fee be increased to £4 4s each per annu-a. The • motion was carried. It was decided to pay the auditors a bonus of £2 2s each for extra services they had rendered in making two audits on the club's books last year. A letter was received from Mr O. C. Couper, the club's delegate to the New Zealand Racing Conference, giving a brief resume of the business done at the Conference. Mr Cooper was accorded a vote of thanks. The meeting then adjourned.
A meeting of the Stewards, which was to have been held immediately after the annual meeting, was adjourned until to-morrow.
