ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.

By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 30. Alfred Michelly, who had been employed by Wingate and Co., merchants, of Auckland, was arrested to-day on a charge of embezzling £ls 5s sd. A number of other charges are pending. It is alleged that the total defalcations run into some hundreds of pounds. By Telegraph Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 31. Michelly, the accountant, has signed a confession admitting embezzling the sum of £1,048 8s Bd, the property, of Wingate and Co. The books are stiil being examined, and it is authoritatively stated that there are further defalcations which will amount to a very large sum. Very interesting developments are also promised in connection with Michelly's private life.
